Women Veteran Coordinator

Jodi Barnett is the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Women Veteran Coordinator, dedicated to advocating for and promoting the value of women veterans in Wisconsin. A U.S. Navy veteran, she served on active duty from 1996 to 2004. As both a veteran and a Navy spouse, Jodi understands the unique experiences of service members and the growing presence of women veterans within the veteran community.
After her Navy service, Jodi spent over 13 years at Vincennes University, assisting military members and veterans in pursuing higher education. She advanced from part-time Academic Advisor to Director of Marketing and Communications for Workforce Development and Community Outreach, where she built relationships with Workforce Education Boards nationwide, managed proposals, and led marketing campaigns across print and social media. She also organized expos and conferences to showcase the university’s programs.
In 2021, Jodi joined the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs as the Women Veteran Coordinator, where she continues to advocate for veterans through various civic organizations. She serves as President of the United States Navy League – Madison Council, a member of the Madison Veterans Council, and Junior Vice President of the National Association of Women Veteran Coordinators. She is also a board member of Wisconsin Women in Government and participates in the Disabled American Veterans Wisconsin Women State Committee.
