If you’re a veteran or a family member looking to obtain military records, discharge documents (DD Form 214), or service medals, the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) Veterans Benefits Resource Center (VBRC) can help.

Services We Provide:

VBRC assists with:

  • Requesting DD Form 214 and other military service records.
  • Seeking a Review of Military Discharges issued under less than honorable conditions (limited assistance).
  • Replacing or obtaining military medals, including:
    • Lost or damaged medals.
    • Medals authorized but never received.
    • Awards given for specific service (e.g., Korean War Service Medal) after military discharge.
    • In rare cases, assistance in requesting medals that were never officially awarded (e.g., Purple Heart).
